When visiting a chiropractor, whether it is your first time ever or your first time with that practice, it’s hard to know exactly what to expect. With so many stories out there, some good and some bad (just like there are good doctors and bad doctors, good dentists and bad dentists), it is only natural for us to want to be prepared.
There are so many different types of practices, ones that focus on performance health for athletes, offices that are centered around taking care of families, ones that use only specific types of adjusting techniques, etc. Our practice keeps the patients the center of it all, as it should be.
At our practice we are happy to take care of patients of ALL ages, we focus on corrective and wellness care and even do prenatal, injury and performance care. Our Doctors use the following techniques:
We are mainly a referral based practice. We don’t do any outside advertising so most of our patients are from word of mouth. It’s quite common to witness friends/acquaintances/neighbors run into each other when coming in for their appointment at our office. As big as Atlanta is, it can be a small world! It makes for a really comfortable and authentic environment.
First Time Patients
When you come to our office for the first time, you should expect to be warmly greeted by a member of our staff and given your paperwork to begin. On your first visit, the Doctor will be doing an in depth consultation, exam, assessment and will take any x-rays that might be necessary. We want to establish why it is you came to see us and ask you questions that will really shed a light on issues you may not have even thought a chiropractor could help!
The Doctor will typically schedule your second visit the following day, or soon there-after, to go over his findings with you and get you started with whatever care he recommends. Sometimes we get the question “Will I get adjusted on my first visit?” Normally the Doctor requires enough time to go over your x-rays and consultation forms before adjusting you so that he is sure to know exactly how to best take care of your needs. Often times our schedule does not allow that in the same day. However, it is very much a case by case basis.
Why We Do Things This Way
For us, chiropractic care is more than just pain relief. We want to educate our community on the importance of spinal health and what that means. We want to make it easier to connect the dots and make sense of your body and how it works.
Why do we adjust the spine and how can that adjustment possibly reduce your headaches, stop the tingling in your hands, improve your allergies or help you sleep better? All valid questions, we just need some of your time to answer! We believe that learning is an everlasting process and our job is ultimately taking care of YOU and giving you the tools to help yourself as well.
