Laser Therapy
Address pain, inflammation, injuries, infection and accelerate healing.
What is Laser Therapy?
It's a FDA cleared therapeutic treatment that manages pain and inflammation while accelerating tissue generation.
How does it work?
Laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates and optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasm, stiffness and pain.
Why we use it:
We've added laser therapy to our practice because we want to provide an effective and safe treatment option for our patients to heal quickly, recover fully and reduce pain effectively.
"It was a life saver. I was in incredible pain and had numbness and tingling. It was totally gone and has not returned. It took only 5 short pain free treatments!!!"
– M.I.
Laser therapy, officially called photobiomodulation - photo meaning "light", bio meaning "living organism", and modulation meaning "exert a modifying influence on; regulate." - is effective for various conditions. Whether you've suffered a sports injury, recently had surgery, are experiencing sciatic pain, or may have numbness or tingling (neuropathy), the laser may be an effective tool in getting you back on the road to optimal function avoiding unnecessary drugs or surgery. As with most care, one treatment can sometimes have a significant effect but most often multiple treatments are necessary before one notices a difference. For many conditions, 4-6 treatments (or more) may be needed before a change is noticed.
Laser Therapy has been around for over 20 years but is growing in popularity due to its increased availability and efficacy combined with few, if any, side effects.
4 Reasons to try Laser Therapy:
Most individuals go about their day with pains and discomforts without knowing the cause behind them or how to solve them. Medications mainly attempt to improve or hide the symptoms but don't address the underlying cause of the condition. Laser therapy may be an excellent complimentary modality to consider to accelerate the healing process, improve quality of life or buy time until an eminent surgery can occur.
1) Inflammation
Laser therapy can significantly reduce inflammation whether caused by recent injury, infection or irritation.
2) Injury
Laser therapy can effectively assist in reducing pain, accelerating the healing process and increasing range of motion.
3) Infection
Laser Therapy can be an effective treatment for recent infections - ear infections, bacterial infections - even fungal infections.
4) Pain
Laser therapy not only accelerates the healing process but due to the heat and infrared light wavelengths, also has a pain relieving effect and can relieve tight muscles.
