What to expect: Chiropratic exam
Your First Visit
In this section we go over what to expect on your first chiropractic visit to our office.
Intake Forms
Before heading to our office for your appointment, please fill out your new patient paperwork by clicking here. Doing so will greatly expedite your appointment. If you cannot complete this in advance, plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to do so in the office. We want to ensure a thorough examination each and every time which is why we set aside an hour for the appointment. If we are unable to start on time, we may need to reschedule your appointment to another day.
What Should I Wear?
We may take some x-rays during the initial visit so it is important to avoid clothing with metal components. This includes zippers, buttons, clasps etc. We recommend wearing comfortable athletic wear - shorts, t-shirts, yoga pants etc. Sports bras that don't contain underwire are ideal. We will ask you to remove jewelry - most frequently large earrings, necklaces and the like. If you are coming from work, you can bring clothes to change into at our office.
What About Parking?
Parking in Midtown Atlanta can sometimes be challenging. We are located roughly halfway between 7th and 8th Streets on Juniper Ave on the East (left) side of Juniper. Street parking is free and allowed from 9:30am - 3:30pm. If your appointment is before or after this time, if you cannot find a parking space, OR you'd simply prefer not to park on the street, you can park in the 905 Juniper Condo parking garage. The parking is complimentary and the entrance is located on 8th Street between Juniper and Piedmont. Simply pull in, push the button to raise the arm and enter. There are 3 parking spaces half way up the incline on the left side reserved for Midtown Life Studio, though all Retail spaces on the left are available for use.
Upon Arrival
Upon entering our studio you will be welcomed as a member of our family. If you haven’t already, we will request that you complete our new patient forms as this paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your reasons for seeking care at our office.
Initial Consultation/Exam
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Chris to discuss your health concerns and goals.
After your consultation, we will perform a complete chiropractic examination. It is important to understand that pain is the body’s way of telling us something is wrong. As you begin your care process, it is crucial to remember that with any health problem pain is the last symptom to develop and the first symptom to go away.
True health is not merely the absence of pain. Only when the body is free of interference to its innate ability to heal and self-regulate do we experience 100% health.
Following the examination we’ll conduct an X-Ray examination (if needed). Digital images can be the best way for us to determine how we can best care for you and we have digital X-Ray facilities right in our office.
Report of Findings
On your next scheduled office visit, Dr. Chris will then go over all of his findings and answer all your questions including:
- How can we help?
- How often do you need to come in?
- What will your treatment cost?
Treatment
Usually, at the conclusion of this appointment, you will receive your first adjustment and any additional care or instruction.
Dr. Chris will talk you through the process and answer any questions/concerns you may have to ensure you feel completely comfortable prior to your first chiropractic experience!
